- Tight — A loose carrier lets baby slump and compromise the airway.
- In view — You should always be able to see baby's face.
- Close enough to kiss — Baby high enough on your chest that you can tip your head down and kiss the top of the head.
- Keep chin off chest — At least a finger's width between baby's chin and chest.
- Supported back — Baby's back supported in a gentle natural curve.
